After the Mt Olympus 5K, everybody spilled into the lot behind the hall. Folding tables and coolers lined the stone wall, a blue Samos Club tent at one end, a Greek flag hung off the building next door.
Finishers stood around in the heat, medals still on, paper cups in hand. Nobody in a hurry to leave. An empty stroller parked by the cones. Same parking lot the freeway commuters blow past every morning, and for one Saturday morning it belonged to the people who ran it.
